It’s tax crunch-time, and according to the IRS over 70% of Americans (99 million people) will use the convenience of e-filing this year. If you have already filed your taxes this way, or are planning to do so here’s a new concern to carefully weigh….
According to an article by Stephen Chapman for ZDNet, some people have inadvertently posted their completed tax forms on public sites – and you don’t want to be one of them. Among the information Chapman found in these tax documents were Social Security numbers, credit card information, names, addresses, tax IDs, and phone numbers of the filer and their family members. The article and the tips he provides are well worth your time to read.
